🌴STAND-UP-PADDLING CLOSE TO VARKALA🌴

Have you already heard  about the most recommended activity very close to Varkala and the best way to experience the Backwaters ?
STAND-UP-PADDLING ON THE BACKWATERS is a must-do!

The 4-hour-trip takes you on the backwaters around Ponnumthuruth Island, which means literally Golden Island. This lush island is a perfect getaway for those who seek a break from the hustle and bustle of Varkala. It’s situated just about 10 km south of Varkala and surrounded by the backwaters with ideal conditions for Stand-Up-Paddling.

We are leaving Varkala cliff at 6am with Rickshaws, when it’s still dark and everyone’s still sleeping. 20min later we will reach the backwaters, we get everything prepared and get on our SUP-boards. The first 5-10min standing on the board and trying to move are quite challenging but slowly slowly the board is under control and the fun starts. We are paddling for about 1,5hrs while the sun is rising. We pass the Golden Island and reach a huge lake with clear water where we have a break for 30minutes while we are swimming in the lake or relaxing on the boards, simply floating. On your way back you already feel like being one with the board and the surrounding nature. Depending on the current and our fitness we can have a stopover at the Golden Island to visit the Shiva Parvathi temple, which is also called Thuruthu Kshethram by the natives. At 10am we are driving back to Varkala cliff with a big smile on our faces! You might become addicted! If so, just come and join us for the same amazing trip in the afternoon from 2:30-6:30pm. The sunsets are breathtaking to.😉

Sunset Yoga photo session

Yesterday we had a nice sunset yoga photo session at the beach with my two yoga teachers Marian & Brigitta. I hope many more of that kind will come and teach @ AyurvidyaCanopy.

A new member of the AyurvidyaCanopy family

Since the beginning of january Marian from Argentina is part of the AyurvidyaCanopy family. I’m happy that she found her way to us and that she is giving yoga classes on our rooftop with sea view for the next weeks…some pics of our flyer.
